Staffing
When American Information Bureau opened in 1997, staffing was our primary area of expertise. During the 10 years prior to opening AIB, we owned, operated and managed 5 retail stores in the Houston Texas area. It seemed to be a never ending job to recruit, screen, hire and train new employees, many of which stayed only a short time and quit, causing us to start the process all over again.
Holidays were especially stressful, having to hire additional staff to help during the peak periods. But I guess it would be fair to say that we have all hired people that looked perfectly normal, that turned out to be complete disasters. You need all the information you can get to make the right choices. But getting the right information has become more and more difficult in recent years.
